CINEMATOGRAPHY AND CAMERA


Setting up your camera correctly is the first step in taking photos that look fantastic. You'll be taught exactly how to adjust the features, options, and parameters on your camera. You'll feel more comfortable doing an outdoor shoot after taking these core learning modules.

We'll use lighting and video production methods to really make your videos pop.   • LIGHTING FOR FILM

    Understand the theory of lighting for film. Learn how to create depth, cinematic feels, and interesting scenes. We're demonstrating various examples in class and on set using basic lighting tools and natural light sources.

  • COLOR TEMPERATURE

    We'll be going through all the basics; from the Kelvin Scale, the importance of color, the Color Wheels and how to use them in full, all the way to expressing super emotions with Color and all the color Harmonies that you need to know about.

  • TYPES OF LIGHTING GEARS

    Go through the types of lighting gears available to indie filmmakers and studio filmmakers as well. Know their price point, use case scenarios, and merits and demerits.

  • EXPOSURE & DYNAMIC RANGE

    We will teach you about how each camera sees light. The difference your lighting can make when you over expose or underexpose your image, and how some camera can give you more room in post than others.

    We will specifically show you how to setup and use a wireless lavalier Microphones along with it's senior, the Shotgun Microphone. You'll understand radio frequencies and channels and how interferance and latency can be a roadblock and how to avoid them.

  • MULTICHANEL RECORDER

    You'll learn about how Multichannel recorders works, the different types of Multichanel recorder and how to setup and operate it to get quality sound on set.

  • RECORDING SOUND ON SET

    A practical session on how to combine different sound gears to record sound on set. We will demystify the process so that you understand every sound gear and the use case.

  • SOUND MIXING & MASTERING

    Mixing sound from multiple lapel or boom microphones can be done both on set and in post production. This session walks you through the process of mixing your audio on set and in post production.

Take your video to the next level with the use of gimbals and steadicam for super smooth camera movements and transitions. From pan shots on tripod to technical tracking shots with electric gimbals. We have professionals that are ready to take you on Practical Sessions to get you working on film sets.

The key to successfully using a green screen is to make your finished video appear natural. The viewers will be distracted from the narrative that your story is trying to convey if they can detect that you shot with a green screen. In this session, we'll show you how to light a green screen properly and how to position your subject so that you can easily key out the background in post-production.

FILM DIRECTING

Introductory


As a director, it is critical to know and understand the roles of the many people on set. The assistant director (AD) is in charge of all day-to-day operations on set. A second assistant director reports to him and serves as a contact between the director and the rest of the team. The AD is responsible for things like time cards, call sheets, tracking daily progress against the production schedule, and maintaining a general feeling of order. This course will teach you how to be a film director and the value of having an AD you can rely on.

To become a competent editor, you'll need more than just editing software and a video editing workstation. Video Editing is more than just making a few cuts and adding music here and there. To truly learn how to edit, you must put in the time to practice, train with professional tools, and learn from the best.     Learn how to Navigate the Adobe Premiere Pro interface, the timeline, menu and the keyboard shortcuts available to make your work seemless.

    Start editing by sorting, importing media, cutting, trimming, keyframing, and working with the source and program panels.

  • MULTICAM SEQUENCE

    Learn to Edit footages recorded simultaneously from different cameras using a Multicam sequence. This is a process for editing Movies, Talkshows, TV Commercials that were shot using more than one camera.

  • MASKING & MOTION TRACKING

    Do advance motion tracking and masking out objects in videos. Mask, track and even composite different videos together on one timeline.

  • TIME REMAPPING & TRANSITIONS

    Create awesome transitions, interactive text animations and take your videos from boring piece to exceptional masterpiece just by adding tiny little creative flair to it.

  • CHROMAKEY & RETROSCOPING

    How to work with Greenscreen footages, visual composition and retroscoping in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.

COLOR GRADING

Introductory


Color is a powerful component of visual style. Tones and colours may come naturally to inexperienced filmmakers. A master, on the other hand, understands the emotional impact that correctly color grading a scene may have. As you develop and refine your particular filmmaking style, you will surely want to experiment with color.Perhaps, you're already there and want to start making bolder color grades, this session will help you get one step closer to generating your own cinematic grade.

  • BASICS OF COLOR CORRECTION

    Learn color palatte, saturation, hue and contrast. These are some of the basics of coloring you'll learn during the introductory session.

  • CODEC, UNCOMPRESSED RAW

    How to work with different file formats and codecs, like the Blackmagic raw (Braw) Redraw, CinemaDNG and Flat picture profile from Mirrowless cameras.

  • WHITE BALANCE & EXPOSURE

    Learn to get a proper white balance for your footages and properly expose your videos for decent highlights and shadows. This alone can improve the overall look of your videos.

  • COLOR GRADING

    We will take a shot footage from diverse camera and color grade them to give us that film and cinama look.

  • LOOK UP TABLE (LUT)

    Luts can be a starting ground for colorist that just want to color grade and move on. These are premade color presets for different cameras that you can plug into your footages to get the film in seconds. Sounds interesting? You'll love what you can achieve with LUTS.

You succeeded! Through each sessions, we worked together to develop your skill set, and in the last step, we put the entire process together to create a finished piece that is both visually and audibly appealing. We will be shooting a Short Film together, with you at the centre of the whole production process, from Script to Screen.

From Music Video treatment to Production Design, Planning to Shooting & Directing, and finally back to the studio for Post Production/Editing. You'll see and a part of a complete Music Video Production. A Musical Artist will be chosen from the class.
